… crab apples earlier in the summer …
… which start off a lovely rosy colour but turn yellow as they ripen….
… became this.
How yellow apples can become this beautiful ruby jelly is a mystery. Can’t wait to sample it.
The variety is malus golden hornet. I planted it 8 years ago when it was nothing more than a twig about 5 ft tall. It never fails to delight, always laden with blossom every spring and apples every autumn.

What do you do with all these preserves? Do you give them as gifts or do you sell them?
Hello and thank you for commenting.
Some we eat ourselves, some I sold last year to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and the rest I give as gifts to family and friend.
